The Humax has been difficult to track down since it’s launch in late November, as initial demand outstripped forecasts and to make matters worse a lorry with a full load of the Freesat Plus PVRs was stolen in December. Until today the only online retailer taking orders was Maplin but now Comet are now taking orders for delivery starting 27th January 2009.

Humax Foxsat HDR - Freesat PVR - stock and availability

Demand for the Humax Foxsat HDR, the first Freesat PVR has totally exceeded Humax’s original forecasts and this combined with the theft of a lorry load of Humax Foxsat PVRs in December, has left retailers with empty shelves.

If you’re set on picking up a new Humax Foxsat HDR in the next couple of weeks then your best bet at the moment is either to pre order one at Maplin or to bid for one of the handful appearing on eBay. Maplin Customer Services told me that they have a delivery coming in next week and a further one promised for the following week, and so are happy to continue to take orders.

When I checked this morning Comet, John Lewis, Currys, Dixons and Argos were all out of stock and no longer taking pre orders. However a spokesman from Humax told me this week that over 3000 Foxsat HDRs a week are being shipped, so it’s worth keeping a regular check on our Humax Foxsat HDR Stock Availability update page
