TV Plus iPhone and iPod Touch application

An application for the Apple iPhone is available that lets you browse seven days of TV listings (400 channels), and schedule remote recordings on Sky Plus. The EPG - or electronic programme guide - also offers programme synopses and you can sort channels by type. It is one of very few iPhone or iPod Touch applications to include Sky Plus Remote Record functionality. This application is called TV Plus - and you can get it from iTunes for £1.79.

The application - created by Ed Lea - features over 400 channels. It is a comprehensive TV guide application for the UK and Republic of Ireland, and it works for the iPhone and the iPod Touch. Use TV Plus to set your Sky Plus Box to record, wherever you are - just set it up from your iPhone, or from your iPod Touch if that has wifi internet access.

In Ed Lea’s latest version of his TV Plus app, you can now create a group of Favourites, and view Now and Next for those channels.

Tioti TV+ iPhone and iPod Touch application

Since we first blogged about this we have found another TV programme guide for iPhone and iPod Touch that also allows you to use the Sky Plus Remote Record facility, wherever you are. Called Tioti TV+, this iTunes app lets you see what is on TV on hundreds of UK channels including regional TV channels and HD (high definition) TV channels. The Tioti TV+ application is available from iTunes for £1.79.
